A team from the US would stay in the homes of Newcastle families, while a UK team would stay in our homes (yes we left the parents behind!) I remember some of the most challenging matches were the ones from Wallsend Boys Club. It was our first introduction to English football... and what an introduction it was!

The summers I spent in Newcastle playing football were some of my most cherished memories, and I've never forgotten the name of Wallsend Boys Club. I'm now going on 44-years-old and still playing football as much as ever, and Newcastle is the team I cheer for, as I've always done since my first visit to the UK.
